May 22, 2020

To our Club Community,

We are pleased to announce that Tennis is open at the Toluca Lake Tennis & Fitness Club while Fitness remains closed at this time until further notice. After weeks of shut downs and stay-at-home orders, California is reopening and we are excited to be part of the loosened restriction order. In an effort to open slowly and responsibly, we are currently permitting tennis lessons only with a Club professional and on June 1, 2020 all tennis play will be available.

It is our hope that in the coming weeks we will be cleared to open Fitness. Until then all Fitness activities including Private Training, Group Classes, Gym, Pool and Pool Deck are closed and off limits. We are moving in the right direction but there is no exact reopen date for Los Angeles gyms.

In accordance with local mandates and to protect the health of our own community and the broader communities we belong to, we have implemented new policies and guidelines. While visiting the Club to play tennis, we ask that everyone sign a Release and Waiver form in addition to a Health Questionnaire. Wearing a mask is mandatory to enter the lobby area. To abide by social distance rules, the Member’s Lounge and outside patio areas are closed and there is no gathering in the lobby. Restrooms are open. Limited locker rooms use is available for hand washing, clothes changing and storing personal belongings. Showers and saunas are closed. Please bring your own towel, water bottle and sunscreen. Bottled water, other beverages and tennis balls are available for purchase at the front desk.

There will be no Group Tennis Lessons, Drill Clinics or Cardio Tennis during this phase. Junior Tennis Camp is cancelled this summer. Starting June 1st singles and doubles matches will be allowed. Reservations can be made on line using Kourts. Please contact Tennis Director Ben Brunkow at bennybackhand@gmail.com for more information. Club hours are 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Cleanliness has always been a top priority at the Club and we have added more safety precautions to our already robust cleaning routine. You will feel confident and safe knowing that during the closure the entire facility has undergone an extensive deep clean. Now that tennis is open, we have expanded our efforts and frequency in cleaning all high-touch surface areas every thirty minutes with an EPA approved disinfecting solution to kill COVID-19. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are located throughout the Club and an air purification system has been installed to create a cleaner environment. Acrylic screens have been added as a protective barrier between Staff and Members. Each team member is screened for temperature and exposure upon arrival and we provide gloves and masks to ensure safety. We have elevated staff training and awareness in addition to providing strict guidelines to keep members safe and healthy.

Tennis dues will be reinstated as of June 1 and Fitness dues will remain on a complimentary freeze until we reopen. Please direct all Membership inquiries to Rindy Errico at rindyerrico@aol.com.

The transition will be gradual and steady as we ease into our new normal with the opening of the tennis courts and eventually fitness. Please be patient as we all navigate the relaunch together with care and concern for the common good of all our community. We are anxious for Fitness to open and we realize the closure has been a significant change in daily life for many members but we are almost on the other side of this shut down. As soon as we have an update as to when the mandate will be lifted, we will let you know. We look forward to welcoming the entire Club back together as a strong community.

Sincerely,
Randy & Marie Landsberger, Paul Philo and the TLTFC Team
